  - IcelandThis country is breathtakingly beautiful. I drove around the entire country from Reykjavik, around the Golden Circle, and continuing onto the Ring Road. My favorite sections were the South West, the South and the East. 1600+ miles of driving, 100+ miles of hiking, dozens of waterfalls, many hot springs, and very friendly people. Everything is pretty expensive there, but other than that, it is by far one of my favorites.

      - SayulitaThe last time I went to Sayulita was during a five-day trip at the end of January 2020 for my girlfriend’s 29th birthday surprise. It was epic for the short time we were there. It is definitely a town that I could get behind as it is very festive. The next time I have planned to go to Sayulita is early January of 2021 for an entire month. Funny enough, the last time I was in a commercial airport was that trip I mentioned above. I’ve never gone an entire year only stepping into a commercial airport once. Oh, PDX airport, and flying around in general, how I miss thee!!

I came here for the TBEX conference and was surprised with how wonderful this little town is in the Finger Lakes area – a much-desired change to the “Big City.”.

  - ChileMy time in Chile was spent enjoying walking around Santiago, enjoying the beaches/nightlife/new years in Valparaiso, to getting as far south as I’ve ever been to enjoy the gorgeous views of Patagonia. Enjoyed a four day backpacking trip around the W of Torres Del Paine. Very friendly locals, good exchange rate from the US, and delicious wine and coffee everywhere I went. My first experience of South America and I was blown away by how great it was. Would go back again in a heart beat.

Europe Is Right Around The Corner

Beer-in-Oktoberfest

I can’t believe the time is already upon us for me and my friend Janel to depart off to Europe. It’ll be our first trip to Europe for both of us and I’m sure it’ll be an absolute blast.

A short itinerary: (More details on travel here at TripIt.)

Depart Portland at 1:30 pm 9/27.
Arrive in Europe through Amsterdam at 8:30 am 9/28.
Depart Amsterdam at 11:30 am and arrive in Munich at 1:30 pm 9/28.
Enjoy the rest of the day getting settled into Munich at my friend Huy’s brother’s place.
Thursday morning, 9/29, head over to Oktoberfest early enough to enjoy the festivities and hopefully meet some wonderful people to let us share a table.
Spend most all of the day there.
Not sure what else Munich holds for us other than seeing some amazing castles and driving on the autobahn.
Depart by train to Paris on 10/2.
Arrive in Paris and stay with an awesome CouchSurfer.
Enjoy all that Paris can offer in just four nights.
Depart by plane to Dublin on 10/6.
Make it to Guinness for a tour and hopefully make it to Jameson.
Go on a south island tour of Ireland from 10/7-10/9.
Spend one last night pub crawling around Dublin. 10/9.
Depart to Portland on 10/10 at 12:30 pm.
Get into Portland at 7:20 pm.
