One of my favorite tools that I use all the time (now going on eight years) is AwardWallet.  AwardWallet is used to track a large number of award programs.  From airlines to hotels, rental cars, trains, and even Domino’s Pizza–AwardWallet tracks them all.  Creating an account is simple, and adding a program to your account is easy. There’s so much more AwardWallet does, however, making it one of my favorite tools for traveling.

Creating an Account at AwardWallet

Creating an account at AwardWallet is simple and free to sign up. It’ll start you off with a three-month trial (unless you use one of my codes).

1. Navigate to AwardWallet.
2. Use one of the quick ‘Sign up’ buttons, or just click the Register button.
3. If you clicked the Register button, enter your email, password, and name.
   • Enter a Coupon Code for an extended first year (I have a few left, so contact me).
4. Done!

It’s that simple! If you didn’t enter a Coupon Code, then you’ll have a three-month trial before having to commit ($30/yr)!

Adding an Award Program to AwardWallet

Once you sign up, you’ll be displayed the ‘Add Award Program’ screen. This is where you could spend a fair amount of time depending on the number of award accounts you have. There’s a LOT of programs that AwardWallet can track for you, take a look at all the different categories:

• Credit Cards
• Airlines
• Hotels
• Rentals
• Trains
• Cruises
• Shopping
• Dining
• Surveys
• and more!

Just like creating an account, adding one is fairly straight forward, depending on the program.

1. Start by typing the name of a program, or selecting one from one of the categories above.
2. Enter your information used to log into the program.
3. Click ‘Add Account’

AwardWallet will then attempt to sign in to your account and pull the miles/points, expiration dates, flights, awards, and other relevant information that you may want to see tracked.

See, so simple! Now rinse and repeat with your other award programs.

Not all programs have the same way to connect, and not all programs allow AwardWallet to track them (ex. United and Southwest).

AwardWallet.com Favorite Features

There’s a lot that AwardWallet provides for its users and this continues to grow. There’s a number of features that are my favorites and this list is bound to change as more features are added.

Auto-Login to Award Programs

A favorite feature of AwardWallet is that it allows you to auto-login to your award accounts after installing its browser plugin (Firefox and Chrome work great).  After you register an account, just click on the account you want to log into, and it will open a new tab and direct itself to your award account.  This is great for those who don’t want to remember a bunch of passwords because AwardWallet handles it for you.

Award Program Points/Miles Tracking

There are a few airlines here and there that don’t allow point tracking to work with AwardWallet, (United and Southwest, cough, cough), but in my experience, the majority of them work just fine.  If nothing else, I still use add those programs and use the Manual mode to update my points with them as it does allow me to auto-login which I find to be very handy.

They also have a forum, a way to get promos, and credit card offers to stay in the game with getting the most points for your accounts.

Alternatives to AwardWallet

Though AwardWallet is a favorite of mine, there are some alternate tools out there that I would recommend to do similar.

• TripIt – Another tool I use often to keep track of my travel plans. The premium service allows you to track your award programs, but I’ve never actually tried using it since I already have AwardWallet to do that for me.
