When I got to Hue I I arrived in Hue by plane the afternoon of the 14th after a great time hanging out in Hanoi. A typhoon as coming into Hue the morning of the 15th, but I ended up having an amazing time and meeting some great people. When I got to Hue I didn’t really have any plans on what I wanted to do. I was hungry and sore however so I grabbed some grub and went out for a massage. The massage wasn’t too bad for $10USD and after I ended up talking with some people outside and found out they were the majority of people in the dorm room I was staying in. We all went and grabbed dinner and what was going to be a mellow night went on until around 2am consisting of a lot of cheap drinks and fun times dancing. The next morning was a mess around the city due to the typhoon passing through the area. I had some provided breakfast and went out to wander the streets. There was quite a number of trees down and streets that were flooded. I decided to have fun and rented a motor bike for the day ($4USD). didn’t really have any plans on what I wanted to do.

I took off towards the citadel and was quite upset when I found out it was closed.  I didn’t let it get me down and hopped back on towards a pagoda I saw on my map.  I never did find it, so I headed back towards the center of town.  On my way, it started to dump buckets.  Thankfully I had my rain jacket which held up and kept my shirt, my wallet, and my phone dry.  My shorts on the other hand were drenched.  I was getting pelted in the face by the rain and couldn’t see any longer so I pulled into a small restaurant/shack.  The guy was nice enough and I ordered a bite to eat.
Before I could finish my food he was talking to me about seeing things around town.

I decided to give into his offer to take me around town and I’m glad I did.  He took me on the back of his motorcycle to ten places I wouldn’t have been otherwise.  Definitely made my time in Hue memorable and I was able to get some good shots.  After finishing up this five hour tour for just $10, I negotiated with him and his nephew to do a motorbike ride down to Hoi An.  Negotiations went in my favor and I had my plans for getting down south the following day.

I finished my time by hanging out with those in my room that evening and going to be slightly earlier than the night before and my liver was thankful for it.
