  - IcelandThis country is breathtakingly beautiful. I drove around the entire country from Reykjavik, around the Golden Circle, and continuing onto the Ring Road. My favorite sections were the South West, the South and the East. 1600+ miles of driving, 100+ miles of hiking, dozens of waterfalls, many hot springs, and very friendly people. Everything is pretty expensive there, but other than that, it is by far one of my favorites.

      - SayulitaThe last time I went to Sayulita was during a five-day trip at the end of January 2020 for my girlfriend’s 29th birthday surprise. It was epic for the short time we were there. It is definitely a town that I could get behind as it is very festive. The next time I have planned to go to Sayulita is early January of 2021 for an entire month. Funny enough, the last time I was in a commercial airport was that trip I mentioned above. I’ve never gone an entire year only stepping into a commercial airport once. Oh, PDX airport, and flying around in general, how I miss thee!!

I came here for the TBEX conference and was surprised with how wonderful this little town is in the Finger Lakes area – a much-desired change to the “Big City.”.

  - ChileMy time in Chile was spent enjoying walking around Santiago, enjoying the beaches/nightlife/new years in Valparaiso, to getting as far south as I’ve ever been to enjoy the gorgeous views of Patagonia. Enjoyed a four day backpacking trip around the W of Torres Del Paine. Very friendly locals, good exchange rate from the US, and delicious wine and coffee everywhere I went. My first experience of South America and I was blown away by how great it was. Would go back again in a heart beat.

Last Leg: Seattle to Portland

Wow…it’s here. The last flight of my big trip around the South Pacific. I can’t believe it is here. It’s a bitter-sweet occasion for sure as I just want to keep traveling, but really looking forward to seeing some much missed faces. Time to replenish the accounts though by doing that “job” thing again. It’s all good though, I’m actually looking forward to getting back into my career path and see what I can make of it after this hiatus.

My last day in Hawaii was pretty great. Nathan, Cuong, Suzanne, and myself finished packing, cleaning the house, then went to the pool and the beaches one last time. Took a road trip through the hills heading north towards the top of the big island. We finished our day walking through the shops of Kona just taking it easy in the warm weather before departing to the cold.

I like the cold at times, and it’ll be nice after so many months of chasing the sun, but it’s still cold…and I’m just not as acclimated to it as I once was. Oh well.

Here’s to shivering in Portland!
