Hiking Helens 2015

Last weekend I went hiking to the top of Mt. St. Helens for the 4th time!  My friend Ryan and I have been hiking it together since 2013 and though it’s grueling, the view from the top and the glacade down makes it all worthwhile.

The sign at the bottom said the roundtrip should take 10-12 hours on a normal day, and since the snow started so much higher, they said it would take 12-14.  I was sitting about the 9 hour mark when I decided that I would try and get back to the car under 10 hours.  It took me jogging most of the last 3 miles through the trees, but I was able to get it done with a few minutes to spare!  Awesome!

 

We finished like we usually do by going to HUB (Hopeworks Urban Brewery) for food and beer.  Always a good finisher which quickly leads to me passing out in my bed.
