Adventures In Costa Rica

Middle of the month, I took off for some adventures in Costa Rica as a reward to myself for almost completing my pilot license and as a Christmas gift to myself. It’s been quite a year and I needed the trip. I had planned to go to Costa Rica last March, however, I quit my job around the time I would have been going and money and time were tight. Eurotrip 2011

eurotrip 2011

I got home Monday night (October 10th) from a nice 14 hours of flying back from my first Eurotrip (actually it was cramped and tiring, but that’s part of traveling) where I spent two weeks traveling with a good friend from high school, Janel, and had an amazing adventure.

El Salvador: First Country Visited

The first country I ever visited outside of the USA was El Salvador.  I came to El Salvador when I was sixteen on a mission trip for two weeks.  I spent most of my time with my face painted as a clown.  Drank out of plastic bags and ate a number of ham and cheese sandwiches.  Took baths using buckets of water, performed theater for families, and helped lay the foundation for a new building at a nearby orphanage.  Many mudslides in the area with tons of traffic.  Saw four lanes of traffic with markets on both sides of the road in the busier parts.  Right of way determined by whoever honks first.  Quite the experience and definitely made me want to see more of this crazy world.
